Paula Y. George, M.D.
Paula Y. George, M.D. is a breast imaging and MRI specialist for St. Luke’s Center for Diagnostic Imaging – Midwest Breast Care Center in St. Louis, Missouri. She has been affiliated with Central Radiology Group since 2005 and with the department of radiology at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield since 2003. She has a special interest in breast MRI and began the breast MRI biopsy program at St. Luke’s Hospital in 2003. In addition, she has expertise in body imaging and musculoskeletal MRI, and has many years of experience in interpreting images from both high-field and open MRI systems.
Dr. George received her medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she achieved Alpha Omega Alpha honors. She completed her post graduate training at Duke University, where she completed an internship in internal medicine, a residency in diagnostic radiology, and a fellowship in abdominal imaging (MRI/CT/Ultrasound). She also interpreted musculoskeletal MRI during her fellowship.
During Dr. George’s career, she has published articles in Journal of Biochemistry, American Journal of Radiology, Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine and Radiology. She also has presented many seminars and conferences on topics including breast imaging/MRI, osteoporosis, contrast reaction treatment, and musculoskeletal imaging.
Dr. George’s memberships include the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Greater St. Louis Society of Radiologists, St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society, the Missouri Radiological Society, The Society of Breast Imaging and the National Consortium of Breast Centers. She has appeared in St. Louis Magazine’s “Best Doctors” issues since 2008.
Dr. George resides in Chesterfield with her husband, Sean Butler, a pastor, and her 3 daughters, Sophia, Anna, and Helen.
