a service of CDI on London Road offers area residents access to an MRI scanner like no other in Northern Minnesota. Our Open Upright MRI helps provide clearer images and/or a shorter exam time than most open-sided MRI scanners.

- The open design eliminates claustrophobia and accommodates patients of all sizes (up to 500 lbs), allowing most patients to be scanned without sedation.
- Maximizes comfort since nothing sits in front of your face for the majority of exams; you can even watch TV!
- Quality isn't sacrificed for comfort – the advanced technology behind the Open Upright MRI scanner helps show more detail than traditional open-sided scanners, for a more accurate diagnosis.
- Positional MRI capabilities mean you might sit, stand or be asked to bend to show pathology that might not show up on a traditional MRI scan (where a patient lies down), which helps your doctor evaluate your spine or joints.

Now you and your doctor can easily access advanced Open Upright MRI exams close to home, services that in the past were only available to patients able to travel to the Twin Cities.
Your physician may request that your exam be completed on a high-field, traditional MRI. To meet that need, CDI also continues to operate a high-field, short-bore MRI at St. Luke’s Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) in partnership with St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.
