One critical aspect of value in medical imaging is quality, which is ingrained in what we do for each patient, every day.

Yet “quality” can be a hard term to define, and prove! At CDI, we have worked with insurance providers, public policy representatives and other health care organizations to define concrete, measurable indicators of quality in diagnostic imaging and related services.

In general, these quality indicators for diagnostic imaging fall into several categories: patient safety and privacy; service measures (speed and access); physician training, accuracy and expertise; staff training and performance; technology and equipment quality and ongoing quality assurance; patient satisfaction; and cost.

These indicators are best practices that have been clinically shown, through reputable research, to be beneficial, and that can be used by you, your employer or your insurance company to measure and compare providers or procedures.
