Continuing in a tradition of excellence and leadership, CDI St. Louis Park is the first outpatient center in Minnesota to offer 3T MRI services. The power behind our 3T MRI’s field strength allows for amazingly detailed images. The improved image quality specifically assists in accurately diagnosing neurological and vascular conditions with even greater confidence. In addition, our 3T scanner also excels at imaging of the spine and musculoskeletal system (this is your bone and joint system, such as shoulders, hips, knees, and feet).
This advanced technology combined with our radiologists’ specialized expertise in neuro, spine and musculoskeletal imaging results in a more definitive diagnosis for you. While the 3T MRI has proven to be a superior technology for some applications, our 1.5T high-field MRI scanners are still the high-quality, gold standard for most diagnostic MRI exams. This is due to:
- magnet field strength,
- highly developed imaging applications and image enhancing tools (coils), as well as
- advanced imaging protocols developed by our radiologists and clinical staff.
CDI’s clinical team works hard to optimize the image quality and efficiency of all our technology. When you have an exam with us, we will make sure that you are scheduled on the appropriate technology for you and your medical needs.
Here are a few examples of the highly detailed images the 3T MRI scanner provides:
Brain
Vessels in the brain (Clinically referred to as the Circle of Willis.)
Carotid arteries (These vessels are responsible for bringing blood from your heart into your brain).
Spine
Ankle

I have had four previous MRIs and this is the nicest of all. It was nice to be able to listen to the radio and to have pleasant instructions throughout of what as happening -quiet time, noise time and how many minutes for each.
