Pediatric Imaging

CDI is happy to offer imaging services to pediatric patients at all locations. Our technologists and physicians have been specially trained to image our younger patients. We will do everything possible to get a high-quality scan without the risk of sedation.

What you can expect:

CDI offers comfortable waiting rooms, including coloring books, crayons and a stuffed animal for your child to take home.
Constant communication from CDI staff with you and your child throughout the exam.
In most cases, parents or guardians may remain in the room with the child during the exam. If your child is having an MRI, please wear metal-free clothing.

SIMPLE STEPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL EXAM

Talk to your child about their upcoming exam. Consider visiting CDI prior to the exam so they can see our play area and the equipment their exam will be performed on, and share with them how they will be positioned in an MRI or CT scanner. It may help alleviate their fears.
Before the visit, listen to the sounds an MRI makes during a scan.
Patients are encouraged to bring along comfort items such as a favorite blanket, toy or stuffed animal. You may also bring music (CD or cassette) and a DVD for the child to enjoy during the recovery period.
All children must be accompanied by a legal guardian. If you bring other children with you, please make sure that an additional adult is available to care for those children in the waiting area.
