Welcome to a better Open MRI at Chesterfield CDI.
All Open MRI's are equal, right? Wrong! Most Open MRIs in the St. Louis area are low-field MRIs, meaning their magnets’ field strength is .35 Tesla. St. Luke’s CDI’s Open MRI is .7 Tesla, which has two primary benefits: it produces higher resolution images for more a accurate diagnosis, and it is able to image patients more quickly, resulting in faster exams.
This new MRI scanner is an alternative to our High-field Short MRI for patients who have severe claustrophobia or are larger, up to 500 lbs. Due to its advanced design, our Open MRI offers better images and faster exam times than typical Open MRI scanners.
Talk with your doctor about which scanning technology is best for you and your specific exam. St. Luke's CDI is also available to help answer questions at 636.519.7865.
