Cardiac MRI

Saint Anthony Valparaiso is the first out-patient center in Valparaiso to offer comprehensive Cardiac MRI, including Cardiac MRI with stress imaging.

Your doctor may order a Cardiac MRI exam to evaluate for a broad range of conditions affecting the heart. Considered a gold standard in cardiac imaging, this exam allows our Cardiologist to quickly examine the structures and function of the heart and major vessels, without the risks and costs associated with traditional, more invasive procedures, such as coronary angiography.

Cardiac MR imaging is performed to help:
* Evaluate the structures and function of the heart, valves and major vessels.
* Diagnose and manage coronary heart disease and a variety of cardiovascular problems.
* Detect and evaluate coronary artery disease.
* Plan a patient’s treatment for cardiovascular problems and monitor patient's progress.

Cardiac MRI exams are performed on our Espree MRI scanner- providing you comfort with its wide-open bore and highly detailed images so you can be confident of your diagnosis. Your images will be reviewed and a report will be provided by our highly respected cardiologist, Michael Wheat, M.D., F.A.C.C., who is fellowship-trained in Cardiac MRI.
